What is Signature Silicon FG Cloth used for?

Silicone-coated fiberglass fabric for jobs where plain glass cloth is not enough — welding screens and curtains, heat shields around equipment, pipe and duct wrap, reusable insulation jackets, and protective covers in foundry and steel plant work. Roll cloth sold by the square metre under FG Product, cut to your layout.

What does the silicone coating add?

It puts a rubbery face on the glass weave. Sparks and hot debris tend to sit on the surface rather than burning in, the cloth sheds less fibre when you cut and handle it, and it stands up to oil and damp better than bare E-glass. That is why plants specify coated cloth for welding bays and covers that get refitted often.

Which thickness should I pick?

Eight DSZSFG builds from 0.3 mm to 2.0 mm, 340 GSM to 2200 GSM. The 0.3 to 0.6 mm cloth is flexible enough for wrap and curtain work. From 1.0 mm up it holds shape for shields and equipment covers that stay in service. At 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm you are into heavy cloth for covers that take regular handling and abuse.

What temperature is each model rated for?

DSZSFG0.3 lists 550 °C to 800 °C. DSZSFG0.4 lists 550 °C to 900 °C. From DSZSFG0.5 through DSZSFG2.0 the range is 650 °C to 900 °C. Match the model to your duty and check the figure on the variant you select.

Should I order single-side or both-side coating?

Single-side is fine when one face sits against cladding or a fixed surface and only the outer face sees heat, sparks or handling. Both-side is worth it when either face can be exposed — reversible covers, jackets that get turned, or wrap work where you cannot guarantee which side ends up outward.

red and black perform differently?, The coating and temperature rating are the same across the three colours. Grey is the usual stock choice. Red and black are often picked for visibility — welding curtains, marked-off hot work zones, or covers you want to spot quickly on a busy shop floor. Confirm colour when you order.

How do I order it and what size do I get?

Select the DSZSFG thickness model, enter length and width in metres and add to cart — the cloth is supplied cut to that size, priced by the square metre. The 1 × 50 m figure is the reference roll format, not a minimum order.

How is this different from Signature Silicon Fire Blanket?

Same DSZSFG model numbers, different product. This page is roll fabric sold by the square metre from 1 × 50 m reference rolls — cut to your dimensions for curtains, wrap and shield fabrication. Is adhesive backing available?

Some models list adhesive coating as an option — DSZSFG0.3, DSZSFG0.4, DSZSFG0.5 and DSZSFG0.8 show No or Yes on the specification. DSZSFG0.6, DSZSFG1.0, DSZSFG1.5 and DSZSFG2.0 are listed without adhesive only. Confirm against the model you are buying if you need a sticky face for temporary fixings.

When should I use plain fiberglass cloth instead?

Plain Signature Fiberglass Cloth costs less and suits straightforward insulation wrap where the fabric sits under cladding and nobody handles it much. Move to this silicon-coated cloth when the surface faces sparks, oil, weather, or gets fitted and refitted regularly.

What standards is the cloth listed against?

What wears out first and how should I store it?

The silicone face. Once the coating is cracked, holed or worn through, the glass weave underneath is exposed and the cloth loses what it was bought for. Keep rolls dry and off the floor, fold or roll without sharp creases in the same line, and retire material when the coated face is gone.
