Signature Fiberglass Cloth

Plain white woven E-glass fabric for heat insulation and protection — wrapping pipes and ducts, lining furnace and boiler openings, fabricating heat shields around equipment, and general lagging work during fabrication and maintenance. Uncoated cloth you order by area and cut to the job, sold per square metre under FG Product.

Fourteen DSZFG builds from 0.1 mm to 3.0 mm, 200 GSM to 1850 GSM. Thin cloth up to about 0.6 mm follows curves and suits tight wrap work. From 1.0 mm up you get a stiffer fabric that holds shape for shields and barriers. At 2.0 mm and above it is substantial cloth meant to stay in place and take handling. Several light models share 200 GSM at different thicknesses — compare both figures, not thickness alone.

There is no single range for the whole line. Lighter builds on 100 metre reference rolls — DSZFG0.1, DSZFG0.18, DSZFG0.2 and DSZFG0.4 — list 550 °C to 800 °C. DSZFG0.5 and DSZFG0.6 list 600 °C to 900 °C. Most 50 metre builds from DSZFG0.3 upward list 650 °C to 900 °C. Pick the model whose listed window covers your duty and check the figure on the variant before you order.

No — uncoated woven E-glass only. If the job needs a reflective face, our Signature Aluminum FG Cloth adds aluminium foil. If it needs a harder-wearing black surface, Signature Graphite FG Cloth adds both-side graphite. Stay on this product when plain insulation cloth is enough.

Cut a piece long enough for the run plus overlap, wrap in a spiral with each turn overlapping the last by about a third of the width, and secure the ends with wire, tape or your site method. Gaps and loose turns are where heat gets through. On outdoor or oily runs, plants often put cladding or a coated cloth over the top to protect the weave.

Yes, both — uncoated glass cloth frays at cut edges and loose fibre ends will itch skin. Cut with sharp shears, secure or tuck the edges rather than leaving them raw, and wear gloves and sleeves. If crews handle it all day, one of the coated cloths is easier to work with.

Reference rolls are 1 metre wide on every listed model. You can order any length and width on the page, but if you need one continuous piece wider than 1 metre with no join, ask us before ordering — wider stock is not listed against these variants.

We list and supply it for thermal insulation, not laminating. Resin work depends on weave, finish and compatibility data we do not publish on these models. If you are buying for composites, tell us the requirement before ordering rather than assuming these specs will suit.

Abrasion and fraying at edges and anywhere the cloth rubs against steelwork — the weave opens up before the fibre fails on heat. Keep rolls dry and off the floor. Glass cloth picks up oil and moisture in storage, and contaminated cloth tends to smoke and smell the first time it heats up.
