Heat and fire protection for construction project sites

Map temporary welding and cutting, hot-work fire-watch, and site-level sheeting to Signature welding blankets, fire blankets, and fire-retardant tarpaulins — then open product pages or request a quotation. Built for construction sites, not permanent factory or plant programmes.

Construction industry overview

Construction project sites run temporary hot work, mobile cutting packages, and weather-exposed work zones that change by trade package. Signature products from Darshan Safety Zone address those site jobs with welding blankets for sparks, fire blankets for fire-watch stock, and fire-retardant tarpaulins for temporary sheeting — manufactured in Ahmedabad under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system.

Name the temporary application first, then the listed Working Temperature, then the category. That keeps contractor POs distinct from indoor fab-shop or permanent plant briefs.

Construction is among the industries we serve with Signature heat and fire protection. Product knowledge packs list welding covers, fire-watch stock, and fire-retardant tarpaulin for project-site programmes — application cues matched to listed Working Temperature and coating claims, not invented construction fire codes. We supply buyers across India from our Ahmedabad factory; contractor and project quotations are welcome with clear site application fields.

Construction site, fab shop, or shipyard? Pick the right journey

Keep this page on temporary project sites. Wrong vertical language leads to wrong category assumptions on the RFQ.

  • Stay on this page (construction site)

Your buyer is a contractor, site engineer, or project procurement lead. Jobs are temporary work areas, mobile welding/cutting, scaffold covers, and site-store fire-watch — not a permanent factory insulation programme.

  • Switch to welding & fabrication

Your site is an indoor fab shop or permanent welding bay. Open the welding and fabrication journey for workshop spark mats and booth PPE.

    Open welding & fabrication
  • Switch to shipbuilding & marine

Your site is a shipyard or marine outfitting yard. Open the shipbuilding journey instead of construction-site language.

How to select for a construction site

Three gates before you open a product page or send a quotation request.

  1. 1. Name the temporary job

Spark cover under the torch → Welding Blanket. Fire-watch / emergency smother → Fire Blanket. Temporary weather and area sheeting → Fire Retardant Tarpaulin. Do not collapse all three into one PO line.

  2. 2. Match duty to listed temperature — not a site slogan

Medium-duty welding blanket DSZMDWB2.4 (900–1000 °C) for lighter fabrication sparks; heavy DSZVCF (1200–1760 / 1260–1760 °C by model) for sustained spatter. Tarpaulin models list about 550–900 °C or 650–900 °C — they are sheeting, not spark mats.

  3. 3. Size for the temporary footprint

Write finished L × W in metres for blankets and tarpaulin. Tarpaulin sells per SQM with length and width inputs; reference roll 1 × 50 m is not your only order size.

Signature Fire Retardant Tarpaulin is silicon-coated grey sheeting under Fire Proof Cover — thickness models from 0.4–0.8 mm, Working Temperature about 550–900 °C or 650–900 °C by variant, with listed waterproof, weatherproof, chemical proof, anti-static, and reusable coating claims. It is sold per SQM with length and width in metres. Use it for temporary site sheeting; use a Welding Blanket when sparks must land on the cloth.

Common risks on construction-site programmes

Procurement risks we see on contractor packages — not a claim that Signature products satisfy every tender fire rule.

  • Ordering plant-turnaround insulation for a temporary site cover

Construction packages often need welding blankets, fire blankets, and tarpaulin — not a full FG/ceramic furnace programme. Use the chemical or power journeys only when the job is truly plant insulation.

  • Using fire-retardant tarpaulin as the weld spark mat

Tarpaulin is temporary coated sheeting. Sparks and slag belong under a vermiculite Welding Blanket. Keep both lines on the RFQ when the site needs both.

  • Mixing facility fire blankets into the spark-cover line

Uncoated fire blankets are for smother and fire-watch stock. Site hot-work floors need welding blankets. See welding blanket vs fire blanket.

  • Inventing construction fire codes on the product line

We do not invent site fire codes, fire-rating hours, or tender marks on this page. Put named standards on the RFQ for confirmation against live panels only.

  • Skipping L × W on temporary covers

Scaffold and temporary zones change size by package. Blank orders without metres force clarification loops and delay delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Answers for contractors, site teams, and project procurement — without invented construction fire codes.

What Signature products do construction sites usually need?
Most project sites specify three heat-and-fire families: Welding Blanket covers for temporary welding and cutting sparks, Fire Blanket stock for hot-work fire-watch and site emergency smother, and Signature Fire Retardant Tarpaulin under Fire Proof Cover for temporary sheeting over plant, scaffold, or work zones. Match the site job first — do not order a permanent plant insulation programme when you need temporary spark and weather cover.
How is this different from the welding and fabrication industry page?
This journey is written for construction project sites — temporary work areas, mobile hot work, scaffold and yard sheeting, and contractor procurement. The welding and fabrication page focuses on indoor fab shops and workshop bays. Product categories overlap; the RFQ context (site vs shop) differs.
Welding blanket or fire-retardant tarpaulin for site hot work?
Use a vermiculite Welding Blanket when the cloth must catch sparks and slag under or beside the torch. Use Fire Retardant Tarpaulin when you need temporary silicon-coated sheeting for weather, washdown, and general site cover — listed waterproof, weatherproof, chemical proof, anti-static, and reusable coating claims, with Working Temperature about 550–900 °C or 650–900 °C by model. Tarpaulin is not a substitute spark mat under the weld.
Where do fire blankets fit on a construction site?
Stock Fire Blankets for hot-work fire-watch and facility-style emergency smother at site stores or cabinets. They are a different Signature category from welding blankets. Do not use an uncoated facility fire blanket as a permanent spark floor. See welding blanket vs fire blanket if the package still mixes them.
Which welding blanket fits construction hot work?
Signature Medium Duty Welding Blanket DSZMDWB2.4 (900–1000 °C) suits lighter fabrication sparks on many sites. Heavy Signature Welding Blanket DSZVCF (1200–1760 °C or 1260–1760 °C by model) suits sustained industrial spatter. Confirm spark load on How to choose a welding blanket — construction sites vary by trade package.
How do we order fire-retardant tarpaulin size?
Signature Fire Retardant Tarpaulin sells per SQM with length and width in metres on the product page (category Fire Proof Cover). Reference roll size is 1 × 50 m on listed models — write the finished L × W you need for the temporary cover, not only the reference roll.
Do you claim construction fire codes or site certifications?
No. This page does not invent construction fire codes, site-safety certifications, or fire-rating hours. Company ISO 9001:2015 and documents on /certificates support vendor onboarding. If a tender names a standard, write it on the RFQ for confirmation against live product panels only.
What should a construction-site RFQ include?
Project or site type, application (spark cover, fire-watch, temporary sheeting), preferred Signature family or model, finished L × W in metres, quantity, delivery location, and target date if known. Separate welding-blanket lines from tarpaulin and fire-blanket lines.
Can we use a vehicle fire blanket on a construction site?
Only if you truly need vehicle-format response kits (fixed 8 × 6 m). Site welding sparks and temporary sheeting belong in Welding Blanket, Fire Blanket, and Fire Proof Cover (tarpaulin) categories — not the vehicle blanket family.
Who manufactures these Signature construction products?
Darshan Safety Zone manufactures Signature heat and fire protection products under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system at our Ahmedabad factory. We supply buyers across India; contractor and project quotations are welcome with clear site application fields.
