How to specify a custom size for a Signature RFQ
Procurement, OEM, and EPC buyers: write length × width, variant, coating, quantity, and application so a custom-size line prices without rework. This is the specification checklist that sits beside the bulk quotation guide — it does not re-teach the full draft workflow.

Custom-size RFQ field checklist
Every accurate custom-size line needs these six fields. Missing any one usually causes a clarification email before price.

Three size paths — know which one you are on
“Custom size” is not universal. Match your RFQ language to how that Signature product is sold.
2D L × W on the product page
When: Buy box shows Length and Width in metres.
Do: Enter or quote the finished L×W. Reference roll sizes (1 × 30 m, 1 × 50 m, 1 × 2 m, etc.) are catalogue references — replace them with your cut unless you truly want that roll length.
Examples: FG cloth, silicon FG cloth, graphite FG cloth, fire blankets, welding blankets, fire-retardant tarpaulin
Fixed listed size
When: No L×W inputs — size is a static benefit on the variant.
Do: Order or quote the listed size only. If you need a different footprint, say so on the contact form or draft notes — do not invent a second size on the RFQ.
Examples: Signature Car Fire Blanket — 8 × 6 m on both Standard and Premium models
Catalogue width / diameter (not cloth L×W)
When: Tape, rope, and similar accessories sold by width, diameter, or coil.
Do: Specify catalogue model (width or diameter), coil preference if listed, and quantity in the selling unit (often KG). Do not force a blanket-style L×W.
Examples: Fiberglass / ceramic fiber tape and rope families
Step-by-step before you submit
Short sequence for one clean custom-size line — then hand off to the bulk draft or contact form.
Step 1
Confirm the product accepts L × W ordering
Open the Signature product page. If the buy box shows length and width in metres, you can specify a custom cut. If size is fixed (for example vehicle blanket 8 × 6 m) or the family is tape/rope by width or diameter, do not invent an L×W — ask on the quotation path instead.
Step 2
Write finished length × width in metres
State L × W as the installed or stocked size (example: 4.0 m × 2.0 m). Do not paste the reference roll size unless that is truly what you want. Keep both dimensions in metres.
Step 3
Lock variant, thickness, and construction
Name the model or thickness (for example DSZFG0.6 or DSZVCF3.2) and coating or reinforcement when the family offers options — silicon side, vermiculite, graphite, metallic vs non-metallic.
Step 4
Add quantity and application
Give piece count (or clear area intent), where the material will be used, and any duty notes that affect construction. Procurement, OEM, and EPC packages should name the site or package ID when useful.
Step 5
Submit on the quotation path — do not re-teach the draft UI here
For multi-line configured RFQs, add the sized line through the bulk quotation flow (draft → My Quotes → Send). For a single clarification or fixed-size exception, send the same checklist fields on the contact form.
Paste-ready RFQ line template
Copy into a draft note, contact-form message, or internal BOM. Replace brackets with values from the product page.

Reference roll or panel sizes on Signature variants are starting points for the catalogue — not automatic order quantities. An RFQ that only says “1 × 50 m roll” when the site needs twelve 2 × 3 m covers will be priced wrong until clarified.
Where to submit the sized line
Choose the path that matches how many lines you have and whether L×W is already on the PDP.
Multi-line bulk draft (preferred for configured sizes)

What does “custom size” mean on Signature product pages?
For many cloths, blankets, and tarpaulins, the product page accepts length × width in metres on the buy box (2D ordering). The roll or reference size on the variant (for example 1 × 50 m or 1 × 2 m) is a catalogue reference — you order the L×W your site needs. That cut is what you must write clearly on an RFQ.
Which units should I use for length and width?
Use metres for both length and width on Signature 2D products, and write them as L × W (for example 3.0 m × 2.0 m). Do not mix feet and metres on the same line. If your drawing is in millimetres, convert once and state metres on the RFQ.
What else must I specify besides L × W?
Name the Signature product family, the model or thickness variant, coating or construction when the family offers options (for example silicon both-side, vermiculite, graphite), quantity, and the application (cover, wrap, welding bay, facility stock). Size alone is not enough for an accurate quotation.
How is this different from the bulk quotation guide?

Can every Signature product take a custom L × W?
No. Many FG cloths, fire blankets, welding blankets, and fire-retardant tarpaulins use 2D L×W inputs. Signature Car Fire Blanket is listed only at 8 × 6 m with no L×W buy-box inputs — ask before assuming another vehicle size. Tape and rope families use catalogue widths or diameters and coil formats, not cloth L×W.
Should I copy the reference roll size into the RFQ?
Only if that is truly the size you want. Reference sizes (1 × 30 m, 1 × 50 m, 1 × 2 m, and similar) describe how the variant is listed — not your required cut. Write the finished L×W you need installed or stocked.
How do I specify coating and construction?
Pick the option that exists on that product’s variants — for example uncoated E-glass vs silicon-coated, single- or both-side coating, vermiculite welding cloth, or graphite-coated FG. Write the model code when you know it (DSZFG0.6, DSZMDWB2.4, DSZVCF3.2). If coating is optional and unclear, say so and describe the surface duty (oil, outdoor weather, sparks).
What quantity and application details help pricing?
State piece count or area intent clearly (pieces of L×W, or total coverage if you are still sizing). Add site use: welding spatter cover, facility fire stock, insulation wrap, OEM panel liner, EPC package. Delivery location and target date help when known — they are optional but reduce follow-up.
Where do I submit after the checklist is complete?
Preferred path for configured lines: follow How to request a bulk quotation — add the sized line to your draft and send from My Quotes. For a single urgent line or when the product is fixed-size / quote-clarification only, use the contact form with the same checklist fields, or WhatsApp / call your desk.
