How to read temperature ratings on Signature products
Match continuous and intermittent plant duty to the Working Temperature range on the model you will order — then open the right family or send a quotation. This guide prevents wrong-category purchases driven by a single peak number or a stale catalogue claim. We use only listed Signature windows; we do not invent °C figures here.
Continuous duty, intermittent duty, and Working Temperature
Buyers and engineers often ask for “continuous” and “intermittent” ratings as two published fields. On current Signature model variants, temperature is shown as Working Temperature — a single °C range per model. You still describe continuous versus intermittent duty on site, then check that both sit inside that listed window.
Continuous duty
The cloth, tape, rope, or blanket sees heat for long periods at a fairly steady process temperature — wrap, insulation line, hot surface cover that stays in place.
Your continuous °C must sit comfortably inside the listed Working Temperature window for that model. Near the top of the band is a risk signal: step up family or quote.
Intermittent duty
Short spikes — welding sparks, brief slag contact, radiant bursts — with cooler time between exposures.
Peaks must still fit the published range. Do not buy on peak alone while ignoring continuous process heat that sits higher for longer.
Working Temperature (on the PDP)
The label Signature product pages use. It is a range in °C for the selected model variant — not a melting point and not a fire-rating hour.
Read the range on the exact thickness or model you will order. Sibling thicknesses in the same family can list different windows.

Step-by-step: read a rating before you buy
Follow this sequence so temperature literacy drives category choice — not the other way around.
Step 1
Write continuous process temperature and intermittent peaks
Note the steady °C the material will see for long periods, plus any short spikes (sparks, slag, brief radiant heat). Continuous and intermittent are duty facts you bring — Signature pages list Working Temperature as a range per model.
Step 2
Open the product page and find Working Temperature on the variant
Select the model or thickness you are considering. Read the Working Temperature range printed for that variant. Do not borrow a number from a different thickness, an old brochure, or a melting-point claim that is not on the panel.
Step 3
Check that both duty types sit inside the listed window
Continuous process heat and intermittent peaks must both fit the published range. If continuous duty sits near the top of an E-glass band (~900 °C), step toward ceramic or heavy welding families with higher listed windows — or quote with your numbers.
Step 4
Match the family to the job, not only the °C figure
Same temperature band can appear on cloth, fire blankets, welding blankets, and vehicle blankets. Confirm category: wrap/insulation, facility fire response, welding spatter, or vehicle cover.

Compare neighbouring families when you are at a ceiling
Example: E-glass fire blankets and many FG cloths top out near 900 °C on listed models; ceramic fabric and DSZVCF welding blankets list into the 1260–1760 °C band. Use the live page, not a guessed upgrade.
Step 6
Buy when the variant is clear — or request a quotation
Checkout when model, size, and Working Temperature already cover the duty. Send continuous °C, intermittent peaks, application, and size on the contact form when the family is still unclear.

When duty sits near an E-glass / silicon ceiling around 900 °C on listed models, open Ceramic Products or heavy welding / ceramic fire-blanket pages instead of stretching an FG SKU.
Common misreads that cause wrong-category buys
Temperature literacy is mostly avoiding these five errors.
Using a blog melting point or fire-rating hour
Use only Working Temperature on the live model variant. Stale catalogues are not the spec.
Matching a spark peak and ignoring continuous process heat
Write both numbers. Continuous duty near the top of an E-glass band usually means a higher family.
Assuming every thickness in a family shares one window
Open the variant you will order. DSZFG, DSZSFG, and FG cloth models list different bands by thickness.
Buying on °C alone without category
Welding blankets, fire blankets, vehicle blankets, and insulation cloth can share similar numbers for different jobs.
Stretching E-glass past ~900 °C because “it is heat cloth”
Step to ceramic fabric, ceramic fire blanket, or heavy DSZVCF when listed duty exceeds the E-glass / silicon ceiling on those PDPs.

What does Working Temperature mean on a Signature product page?
Working Temperature is the specification label on Signature model variants. It is published as a range in °C for that model (for example 600 °C to 900 °C). Read the range on the variant you will order — do not assume every thickness in a family shares one number.
Do Signature pages list separate continuous and intermittent ratings?
On the live model variants we publish, temperature is shown as Working Temperature — a single range per model — not as two separate continuous and intermittent fields. You still must match continuous versus intermittent duty on site to that listed window: continuous heat near the top of the band needs a harder look than short spikes inside the band.
How should I read the low and high ends of the range?
Treat the published range as the working window for that model. If your continuous process temperature sits near or above the upper figure, step to a family with a higher listed window or request a quotation with your duty written out. Do not invent a melting point or fire-rating hour that is not on the product page.
What is the difference between continuous and intermittent duty?

When do I need ceramic-range temperatures?
When duty exceeds the ~900 °C ceiling common on E-glass and silicon fire-blanket windows. Signature Ceramic Fiber Fabric lists 1000–1760 °C or 1260–1760 °C by model. Signature Ceramic Fire Blanket and heavy Signature Welding Blanket (DSZVCF) list 1260–1760 °C (DSZVCF2.5 lists 1200–1760 °C). How do welding-blanket temperatures differ from fire-blanket temperatures?
Different jobs and different listed windows. Signature Medium Duty Welding Blanket DSZMDWB2.4 lists 900 °C to 1000 °C. Heavy Signature Welding Blanket DSZVCF lists 1200–1760 °C or 1260–1760 °C. Signature Fire Blanket DSZFG tops out at 900 °C on listed models. Matching only “high temperature” without reading the family causes wrong-category buys.
What about vehicle fire-blanket temperatures?
Signature Car Fire Blanket Standard DSZCFB0.6 lists 650 °C to 900 °C. Premium DSZCFB0.8P lists 1100 °C to 1800 °C. That Premium window is for hotter vehicle / EV-oriented duty — still a vehicle-format product at 8 × 6 m, not a plant E-glass cloth.
Can I use one temperature number from a blog or old catalogue?
No. Stale copy has used melting points, fire-rating hours, and single-point temps that are not on current modelVariant labels. Use the Working Temperature on the live product page for the model you order. If your permit quotes a standard we have not listed on that SKU, request a quotation — do not invent compliance from this guide.
What should I write on a quotation request?
Continuous process temperature (°C), whether exposure is continuous or intermittent, peak spike if any, application (cover, wrap, vehicle, welding spatter), and approximate size. That lets us point you to the family whose listed Working Temperature covers the duty.
Does a higher top-of-range number always mean the right product?
No. Category and construction still matter. A ceramic fabric and a vermiculite welding blanket can share a high listed window but serve different jobs. Read temperature to shortlist the family, then confirm coating, size format, and category on the product page.
