Signature ceramic fiber fabric · Visakhapatnam & Anakapalli

Ceramic fiber fabric for Visakhapatnam steel and power-plant heat zones

A barrier beside a casting bay at Ukkunagaram, outage pads on a Parawada boiler and a heat-treatment wrap in an Autonagar workshop all call for ceramic cloth — but not the same build. This page matches Visakhapatnam heat-zone maintenance to the right Signature Ceramic Fiber Fabric model: metallic or non-metallic, 1.5 mm to 6.0 mm. We make it at our Ahmedabad factory, cut to your size, and dispatch to your plant.

Visakhapatnam heat zones where ceramic fiber fabric is specified

Visakhapatnam's heavy industry runs from the integrated steel works at Ukkunagaram and the Autonagar estate in Gajuwaka, west to the Parawada power and pharma belt, and south into the Atchutapuram–Rambilli cluster in Anakapalli district. Each generates a different kind of high-temperature maintenance work.

  • Ukkunagaram steel zone

Integrated steel works — Gajuwaka, south-west Visakhapatnam

    Heat sources:
Coke ovens, sinter plant, blast furnaces with hot stoves, steel melt shop, continuous casting and rolling mills
    Typical use:
Heat barriers and hanging covers beside furnace, ladle and casting areas, plus wraps on hot ducting and hood joints opened during planned repairs. These pieces get knocked and dragged, so reinforced, heavier cloth is the place to start.

    Start with: DSZCF4.0 / DSZCF5.0; DSZCF6.0 for fixed barriers

  • Autonagar industrial estate

APIIC engineering estate — Gajuwaka mandal

    Heat sources:
Engineering, fabrication and allied workshops serving the heavy-industry belt
    Typical use:
Pre-heat and post-weld heat-treatment wraps on fabricated parts and pipe spools in the workshop. Where the heating is by induction coil, steel in the weave is a problem — that is the job for the non-metallic build.

Start with: DSZCF3.0; DSZCF3.0NM around induction heating

  • Parawada thermal power belt

    Coal-fired super thermal power station (4 × 500 MW) — Parawada mandal

    Heat sources:
Boilers, turbines, steam and flue-gas systems
    Typical use:
Boiler and turbine outages, when removable insulation pads and wraps come off hot flanges, valves and penetrations for inspection and go back on afterwards. Cloth that is refitted every outage needs the steel reinforcement for body and tear resistance.

    Start with: DSZCF3.0 / DSZCF3.0P

  • JN Pharma City, Parawada

APIIC pharmaceutical SEZ — 2,143 acres, Parawada

    Heat sources:
Bulk drugs and pharmaceutical manufacturing with on-site utility boiler houses
    Typical use:
Boiler-house maintenance: fabric pads and covers where a wrap is needed during boiler overhauls, with ceramic rope and tape for joint packing and gasket detail.

    Start with: DSZCF2.0 / DSZCF3.0

  • Atchutapuram – Rambilli industrial cluster

APIIC multi-product SEZ and industrial parks — Anakapalli district

    Heat sources:
Multi-product manufacturing and engineering units south of Visakhapatnam
    Typical use:
Insulation wraps and barriers on furnaces, ovens and hot process lines during maintenance and new-line commissioning, where the maintenance team needs a mix of thicknesses on one order.

Start with: DSZCF3.0; DSZCF4.0 for barriers

Listed specifications and the three choices to make

Confirm the figures on the variant you select on the product page before you specify.

Signature Ceramic Fiber Fabric

  • Eight DSZCF models from 1.5 mm to 6.0 mm, 800 GSM to 3500 GSM
  • DSZCF1.5 and DSZCF2.0 listed at 1000 °C to 1760 °C; DSZCF3.0 and above at 1260 °C to 1760 °C
  • SS metallic reinforced on every model except DSZCF3.0NM (non-metallic)
  • White, uncoated ceramic fibre cloth; non-asbestos
  • Reference roll 1 × 30 m (DSZCF6.0: 1 × 20 m) — a format, not a minimum order
  • Priced per square metre; enter length × width in metres on the product page
Metallic or non-metallic
Stainless strands in the yarn give the cloth body and tear resistance when it is pulled tight and refitted. Drop to DSZCF3.0NM only where steel in the weave is a problem — induction heating, live electrical work, or surfaces that must not be marked.
Thickness and GSM
More thickness and GSM means more insulating mass. 3.0 mm is the general wrap; 4.0–6.0 mm is for barriers; DSZCF3.0P adds mass without stepping up in thickness.
Uncoated or graphite coated
White DSZCF cloth for straightforward insulation and barrier work. Move to graphite-coated DSZGCF3.0 when the face rubs in service or you need it to shed fewer fibres.

Frequently asked questions

Answers for Visakhapatnam steel, power and boiler maintenance teams ordering Signature ceramic fiber fabric.

Which ceramic fiber fabric suits heat barriers near furnaces and casting areas in the Visakhapatnam steel zone?

For barriers and covers that hang near hot metal and get knocked about, start with the heavier SS metallic reinforced builds: DSZCF4.0 (1800 GSM), DSZCF5.0 (2500 GSM) or DSZCF6.0 (3500 GSM), all listed at 1260 °C to 1760 °C. Choose by how much mass you want between the heat source and what sits behind the barrier.

What should a boiler or turbine outage team at Parawada order for insulation wraps?

DSZCF3.0 is the usual starting point for wraps and removable pads that get pulled tight and refitted: 3.0 mm, 1000 GSM, SS metallic reinforced, listed at 1260 °C to 1760 °C. If a 3.0 mm wrap has worn through too quickly in the past, specify DSZCF3.0P, which keeps 3.0 mm but goes up to 1500 GSM.

When should I choose the non-metallic DSZCF3.0NM instead of the reinforced DSZCF3.0?

When steel in the weave is a problem: work around live electrical equipment, induction heating, or jobs where metal contamination or marking on the surface underneath is not acceptable. DSZCF3.0NM has the same 3.0 mm and 1000 GSM as DSZCF3.0, without the stainless reinforcement.

Do the thin DSZCF1.5 and DSZCF2.0 cloths cover the same temperatures as the thicker builds?

Not on the listing. DSZCF1.5 and DSZCF2.0 are rated 1000 °C to 1760 °C; DSZCF3.0 and above are rated 1260 °C to 1760 °C. If your duty sits in the 1000 °C to 1260 °C zone, specify 3.0 mm or above rather than assuming the thin cloth covers it. Confirm the figures on the variant you select on the product page.

Should I use ceramic fiber fabric or fiberglass cloth for a Visakhapatnam plant job?

Ceramic fiber fabric is for extreme-heat duty where glass or silica cloth is out of range — furnace and foundry wraps, barriers, pads and covers. Our fiberglass vs ceramic fiber guide compares the two by temperature and use, and the temperature-ratings guide explains how to read the listed ranges.

When is the graphite-coated ceramic fabric the better choice?

Use Signature Graphite Coated Ceramic Fabric (DSZGCF3.0: 3.0 mm, 1000 GSM, both sides graphite coated, listed at 1260 °C to 1760 °C) when the surface faces repeated rubbing or you need a sealed black face that sheds fewer fibres. The uncoated white DSZCF cloth suits straightforward insulation and barrier work.

How is ceramic fiber fabric sold and what size will I receive?

It is priced by the square metre. Enter length and width in metres on the product page and the fabric is supplied cut to that size. The reference rolls — 1 × 30 m on most models and 1 × 20 m on DSZCF6.0 — are formats, not minimum orders.

Is this the same as the Signature Ceramic Fire Blanket with the same DSZCF codes?

No. The fabric is sold per square metre and cut to your dimensions; the ceramic fire blanket is a finished 1 × 2 m piece sold per number. The model numbers overlap but the builds differ — DSZCF4.0 fabric is 1800 GSM while the 4.0 mm blanket is 1500 GSM — so order by product page, not model number alone.

Does it contain asbestos, and how should site crews cut and inspect it?

No asbestos. It is still a high-temperature mineral fibre, so cut and handle it under your site procedure for ceramic fibre materials and keep dust down. Reinforced cloth needs shears or snips rather than ordinary scissors. Before reuse, check for thinning, worn-through patches and broken steel strands, and retire worn-through material rather than patching it.

Do you have a branch or stock in Visakhapatnam?

No. Darshan Safety Zone, an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer, makes Signature ceramic fiber fabric at our factory in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and dispatches to the plant address on the order. We confirm dispatch for your models and quantities on the quotation.
