Silicon FG cloth for Mumbai dockyard curtains and chemical-plant expansion joints
A curtain at Dockyard Road is cut to the bay. An expansion joint at Taloja is wrapped in the same silicone-coated fiberglass, sold by the square metre. Coating and thickness follow the job. The listed ceiling stays 900 °C on every model from 0.4 mm up. We make the cloth in Ahmedabad and dispatch it to the yard or the plant.
When the face should not be silicone
Plain white fiberglass cloth stays under lagging and is rarely handled. Graphite FG cloth is the black, both-side graphite face, listed from 550 °C to 900 °C depending on the DSZGF model. Stay on silicon FG cloth for curtains, expansion-joint wrap and covers that are fitted and taken off.
Match thickness to the curtain or the joint
A curtain is a drop by a width. A joint wrap is a band long enough to go around the movement. A cover is the panel that comes off the equipment. Past DSZSFG0.4 the listed top stays 900 °C, so thickness is about handling, not a hotter rating.

Docks and chemical belts that cut this cloth
Shipbuilding sits at Dockyard Road. Ship repair sits at the Fort yard. Chemical pipework sits east, at Taloja and along Thane–Belapur Road. A curtain fills an opening. A joint wrap follows the movement of the line.

- Refit work in dry dock, where a curtain is hung and a cover is made for equipment on the blocks
- Cloth:
- Use DSZSFG1.0 when the cover has to keep its shape for the length of the refit. Order the opening in metres. The cloth carries no naval or marine approval, so the yard’s own hot-work permit still applies.

Which silicon FG cloth should a Mumbai dockyard hang as a welding curtain?
Hang DSZSFG0.5 or DSZSFG0.6 across a bay opening. DSZSFG0.5 is 0.5 mm and 510 GSM. DSZSFG0.6 is 0.6 mm and 560 GSM, and it is the only model also listed in green, which helps a screen stand out on a dock floor. Both are listed at 650 °C to 900 °C. Measure the drop and the width in metres. You are buying square metres of cloth, not a blanket that already has a finished size.
Which cloth wraps an expansion joint on a chemical-plant line?
DSZSFG0.8 is the practical start: 0.8 mm, 900 GSM, listed at 650 °C to 900 °C, with adhesive listed as No or Yes. Choose both-side coating when the joint moves and either face can meet the pipe or the heat. The wrap is still cut to a length and a width. It is not the 25 mm insulation-tape coil, even though that coil uses a DSZSFG number.
When is single-side coating enough, and when do we need both sides?
Single-side coating fits a curtain fixed to a frame, or a wrap that stays against lagging, so only the outer face is exposed. Both-side coating fits a screen walked past on either side, and a cover or joint wrap that is turned during fitting. The coating field on every model is single-side or both-side. Write the choice on the order.
What thickness holds a heat shield or a cover that comes off the equipment?
DSZSFG1.0 (1.0 mm, 970 GSM) is the first build that holds a panel shape. DSZSFG1.5 is 1.5 mm and 1600 GSM. DSZSFG2.0 is 2.0 mm and 2200 GSM. All three are listed at 650 °C to 900 °C and have no adhesive option. If someone asks for 3 mm, check DSZSFG3.0: it is 3 mm and only 2000 GSM, so it is lighter than DSZSFG2.0, and the reference roll is 1 × 30 m.
Does a thicker cloth raise the temperature listing?
No. DSZSFG0.3 stops at 800 °C (550 °C to 800 °C). DSZSFG0.4 is 550 °C to 900 °C. From DSZSFG0.5 through DSZSFG3.0, and on DSZSFG800, the listing is 650 °C to 900 °C. Thickness changes how the cloth hangs or wraps. It does not publish a higher ceiling than 900 °C.
How is a curtain or a joint wrap sized on the order?
Type length and width in metres. The price is the square metres of that rectangle. Nine models show a 1 × 50 m reference roll. DSZSFG3.0 shows 1 × 30 m. Those rolls describe the catalogue cloth. They are not the piece you have to take. Put the dock curtain and the plant wrap on separate lines.
The stores already stock DSZSFG blankets and tape. Can they use this cloth instead?
Only if the line is roll cloth. Signature Silicon FG Cloth is cut by the square metre under FG Product. A silicon fire blanket with the same model number is a finished piece. The insulation tape with a DSZSFG number is a 25 mm × 20 m coil sold by the kilogram. Match the product page, not the model number alone.
Which models offer adhesive, and which one can be green?
Adhesive is listed as No or Yes on DSZSFG0.3, DSZSFG0.4, DSZSFG0.5 and DSZSFG0.8 only. Green is listed on DSZSFG0.6 only, and that model has no adhesive option. DSZSFG1.0 and thicker, plus DSZSFG800, are grey, red or black with no adhesive.
A requisition says 800 GSM and no thickness. Which model is that?
DSZSFG800. The catalogue gives the weight and does not give a thickness, so leave the millimetres blank. Colour is grey, red or black. Coating is single-side or both-side. There is no adhesive option. The reference roll is 1 × 50 m. The working temperature is 650 °C to 900 °C.
Can you deliver from a Mumbai godown by a shutdown date?
