Welding blankets for Hyderabad engineering and fabrication shops

In a Balanagar precision shop, the weld is often a few metres from a CNC machine. At a Ramachandrapuram heavy-fabrication bay, plate is being cut and gouged. Those need different blankets. Our Medium Duty DSZMDWB2.4 has no metal in it and handles everyday bay welding. The heavy DSZVCF range is reinforced for cutting and running slag. We cut both to your length × width in Ahmedabad and dispatch them to your shop.

For plate cutting, gouging and heavy fabrication

The heavy Signature Welding Blanket DSZVCF range is SS reinforced and listed at up to 1760 °C, for covers that take running slag and hot cut edges.

Medium or heavy: match the range to the process

Most engineering-shop welding needs the medium range. Move to the heavy range only for the processes that throw slag and hot metal.

Hyderabad engineering estates and the blanket to start with

Hyderabad's fabrication work is spread across three areas: the north-west estates around Balanagar and Jeedimetla, the east around Cherlapally and Nacharam, and the heavy-engineering belt at Ramachandrapuram, with the defence-production zone at Kanchanbagh in the south-east. The process in each shop decides the range.

Laid, draped or hung: using blankets in a bay

A fabrication bay usually needs blankets in three places. Size each piece for where it goes, not just the weld.

Laid on the floor and fixtures
Cover the floor and the jig under the weld, with margin on every side. Spatter that lands on a bare floor or a finished part is where most burn marks come from.
Draped over machines and panels
Over a CNC table, a control panel or a cable tray within reach of the sparks, use the non-metallic DSZMDWB2.4 so nothing conductive sits against live parts.
Hung as a screen between bays
DSZMDWB2.4 can be hung to screen one bay from the next. Pieces arrive with plain edges, so ask for eyelets on the quotation if you will hang them.

To write each piece as a length × width line, see how to specify a custom size for an RFQ.

When you need the heavy range: picking the thickness

Every heavy DSZVCF model is vermiculite coated and brown, and all except DSZVCF2.5 are SS reinforced on a 1 × 30 m reference roll. Thicker means more mass between the slag and the floor. To compare the listed temperatures, read our temperature ratings guide.

What to send for a Hyderabad welding-blanket quote

With these six details we can quote medium and heavy pieces for several shops on one quotation.

The work
Bay welding, plate cutting or gouging, work near machines and panels, or plant-maintenance hot work.
Range and model
DSZMDWB2.4, a DSZVCF model, or both. If unsure, describe the process and we will suggest one.
Pieces and sizes
Length × width in metres for each piece, on its own quotation line.
Hanging
Say if any pieces will hang as bay screens and need eyelets.
Units and addresses
Each shop or plant address in Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri or Sangareddy.
Documents and date
Any documents your vendor file needs, and the date you need the blankets.

Made in Ahmedabad, dispatched to Hyderabad shops

Every blanket is cut to the sizes on your order at our Ahmedabad factory and dispatched to your shop or plant. There is no branch, dealer or warehouse in Telangana, and this page makes no delivery-time promise. The quotation confirms dispatch for your models and quantities, so include the date you need them.

For the fire-watch at the bay

Welding blankets protect the floor, machines and parts. They are not made to put out a fire, so keep a fire blanket with the fire-watch as well.

Frequently asked questions

Answers for Hyderabad engineering, fabrication and plant-maintenance buyers ordering Signature welding blankets.

Which blanket suits everyday MIG and TIG work in a Balanagar or Cherlapally fabrication bay?

Signature Medium Duty Welding Blanket DSZMDWB2.4. It is 2.4 mm thick, 1300 GSM, vermiculite coated on a non-metallic fabric and listed at 900 °C to 1000 °C. That covers the sparks and spatter from stick, MIG and TIG welding on fixtures, frames and sub-assemblies, and it costs less to keep in every bay than the heavy range.

We cut and gouge thick plate for heavy-electrical fabrication. Is the medium blanket enough?

No. Plate cutting, gouging and running slag are beyond medium duty. Use the heavy Signature Welding Blanket DSZVCF range, which is SS metallic reinforced and listed at 1260 °C to 1760 °C. Choose DSZVCF4.0 to DSZVCF5.0 (1700 to 2200 GSM) where the cover sits under cutting all shift.

Can a welding blanket go over a CNC machine or next to a control panel?

Use DSZMDWB2.4 there. Its reinforcement is non-metallic, so it gives no conductive path around live electrical equipment, panels or cabling. The heavy DSZVCF roll builds carry stainless steel strands, so keep them away from live parts.

Can we hang the blanket as a screen between welding bays?

Yes. DSZMDWB2.4 can be laid over equipment, draped down a side or hung to screen off an area. No eyelets or grommets are listed, so the blanket arrives cut to your size with plain edges. If you need eyelets for hanging, or want to hang a heavy DSZVCF piece, ask when you request the quote.

Which heavy DSZVCF thickness should an engineering shop start with?

DSZVCF3.0 or DSZVCF3.2 (3.0 to 3.2 mm, 1500 GSM) are the common workshop builds. Go to DSZVCF4.0 to DSZVCF5.0 when the cover stays down all week or sits under heavy grinding and overhead work. DSZVCF2.5 and DSZVCF2.8 suit smaller covers and lighter jobs.

How do we order a blanket at the size each bay needs?

Both ranges are sold per piece at the size you enter. Choose the model on the product page, enter length and width in metres, and the blanket is supplied at that size. The 1 × 50 m (DSZMDWB2.4), 1 × 30 m and 1 × 2 m (DSZVCF) figures are reference formats, not the only sizes.

Can one quotation cover medium and heavy blankets for several units?

Yes. Put each model on its own line with its length × width and quantity, and give the delivery address for each unit, such as a Balanagar shop and a Ramachandrapuram plant. We quote every line from our Ahmedabad factory together.

Can you provide documents for a defence PSU or vendor-registration tender?

Darshan Safety Zone is ISO 9001:2015 certified at company level. We do not claim defence approvals or product certifications beyond the working temperatures listed for each model. Tell us which documents your tender asks for and we will say what we can provide before you order.

Do you have a branch or stock in Hyderabad?

No. We make Signature welding blankets at our factory in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and dispatch them to the shop or plant address on your order in Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri or Sangareddy. We have no branch, dealer or warehouse in Telangana. The quotation confirms dispatch for your models and quantities.

Does a welding blanket count as fire-watch equipment for a hot-work permit?

No. A welding blanket shields floors, machines and work from sparks and spatter while you weld or cut. Putting out a fire is a different job, done with a fire blanket. Keep a Signature Fire Blanket or Signature Silicon Fire Blanket with the fire-watch as well as the welding blanket.

Equipping new bays or replacing worn blankets in Hyderabad?
