Is this a replacement for asbestos cloth?

Should I take the uncoated or the silicon coated version?

Uncoated light golden fabric is the straightforward choice for dry insulation work inside a furnace surround or under cladding. The both-side silicon coated grey build is worth it where the fabric faces oil, splash, moisture or regular rubbing, since the coating seals the surface and takes the wear instead of the weave.

Why are some models light golden and some grey?

Colour tells you the build at a glance. Light golden is the uncoated itching proof fabric, grey is the both-side silicon coated one. If you are checking stock against a spec, the colour is the quickest confirmation you have the right material.

Which thickness do I need?

Thicker fabric means more GSM and more insulating mass, so it holds heat back longer and stands up to handling better. The 0.6 and 0.8 mm builds suit wraps, pads and detailing where the fabric has to follow a shape, while 1.2 to 1.4 mm is what gets specified for heavier barriers and covers that stay in place.

How do I order it and how much do I get?
