Signature insulation tape · Mumbai

Silicone insulation tape for Mumbai refinery, power and chemical-belt pipe work

A flange at Mahul and a steam fitting at Trombay take the same roll: Signature Insulation Tape, silicone-coated fiberglass, ordered by the kilogram. Chemical units at Taloja and along Thane–Belapur Road use it the same way, on pipes and joints inside the listed temperature. It is not ceramic fiber tape. We make it in Ahmedabad and dispatch it to your plant.

When this roll is the wrong tape

Uncoated fiberglass tape is the white band with no silicone face, still listed at 550 °C to 900 °C. Ceramic fiber tape is the white DSZCTP range at 1260 °C to 1760 °C. Stay on DSZSFG0.6 when the job is silicone-coated wrap inside 900 °C.

Order the tape by the kilogram

There is one listed roll. Thickness does not step up with the job. A flange and a steam-header end use the same 0.6 mm tape. What changes is how many kilograms the joint count needs.

Where Mumbai crews wind this roll

The refinery and the thermal station sit together at Mahul and Chembur. The chemical belts sit east, at Taloja and along Thane–Belapur Road. Each place uses the tape to close insulation, not as a fire blanket.

  • Mahul refinery

Refinery at B.D. Patil Marg, Mahul, village Chembur — 9.5 MMTPA

    Work:
Process pipes, steam lines and flanges opened during a planned shutdown
    Tape:
After a flange or valve is remade, wind DSZSFG0.6 over the joint and the short pipe either side of it. The roll is 25 mm wide. Order the kilograms the joint count needs. This tape is not a hazardous-area approval.

    Start with: DSZSFG0.6

  • Trombay thermal station

Coal-fired station on Mahul Road, Chembur — 500 MW and 250 MW units

    Work:
Steam headers, small-bore fittings and hot-equipment nozzles on an outage
    Tape:
The same 0.6 mm silicone roll closes the ends of lagging and wraps fittings the main insulation does not cover. Keep the rolls dry in the stores cage. We do not list a separate radiant-heat figure.

  • Lines leaving the Mahul–Trombay complex

Product dispatch at Trombay, including the Mumbai–Pune–Solapur line and the lube line toward Wadibunder

    Work:
Valve stations and short pipe runs on product lines that start at the refinery
    Tape:
A valve station takes overlapping turns of the 25 mm tape, not a wide cloth. Count joints and order kilograms. The tape does not replace the line’s own insulation specification.

  • Taloja MIDC

Chemical industrial area, about 863 hectares, beside Navi Mumbai and Panvel

    Work:
Process-pipe racks and vessel nozzles on chemical units
    Tape:
Use DSZSFG0.6 where the maintenance method calls for silicone-coated tape on pipes and flanges inside 550 °C to 900 °C. We do not publish a chemical-resistance number for the coating.

    Start with: DSZSFG0.6

  • Thane–Belapur road, TTC MIDC

Trans Thane Creek estate, about 27 sq km, set out in 1963 along Thane–Belapur Road

    Work:
Chemical, dye, bulk-drug and petrochemical units with steam and process lines
    Tape:
Stores that keep one silicone roll for flange close-up and steam-header ends. If the written temperature sits above 900 °C, switch to ceramic fiber tape. If the face must stay uncoated, switch to fiberglass tape.

Frequently asked questions

Answers for Mumbai refinery, power and chemical-belt teams ordering Signature insulation tape.

Which tape should a Mumbai maintenance crew use on a process pipe or steam line?

Signature Insulation Tape, model DSZSFG0.6. It is silicone-coated fiberglass, gray, 0.6 mm thick, on a 25 mm × 20 m roll listed at 1 kg, with a working temperature of 550 °C to 900 °C. Order it by the kilogram for wrap and seal work on process pipes, steam lines, flanges and hot equipment. It is not ceramic fiber tape.

How do I order the quantity?

By the kilogram. The catalogue lists one roll at 1 kg, 25 mm wide and 20 m long. Put the kilograms you need on the quotation, with the site and the line you are wrapping. There is no length-and-width box on this product. We confirm the quantity and dispatch from our Ahmedabad factory.

Is Signature Insulation Tape a ceramic fiber tape?

No. DSZSFG0.6 is silicone-coated fiberglass tape in the Insulation Cloths range. Ceramic fiber tape is a different product, white DSZCTP coils listed at 1260 °C to 1760 °C, sold per kilogram under Ceramic Products. If the line is written above 900 °C, open the ceramic tape. Do not relabel this roll as ceramic.

When should the stores line be uncoated fiberglass tape instead?

When the specification is white fiberglass with no silicone face. Signature Fiberglass Tape (DSZFTP) is uncoated, listed at 550 °C to 900 °C, and sold per kilogram in fixed widths and section thicknesses. Use it for a wide bind that stays under cladding. Use DSZSFG0.6 when the job calls for the silicone coating on a 25 mm roll.

Does this tape carry a hazardous-area approval?

No. Darshan Safety Zone does not list a hazardous-area approval for Signature Insulation Tape. Refinery, power and chemical-belt crews in Mumbai can order it as wrap and seal tape and follow their own permit and insulation procedure. We also do not publish a chemical-resistance figure for the silicone coating.

What size and temperature are actually listed?

One model. DSZSFG0.6 is gray, silicone-coated, 0.6 mm thick, 25 mm × 20 m, weight listed as 1 kg, working temperature 550 °C to 900 °C. We do not publish a separate radiant-heat number, an adhesive strength, or extra widths. If a programme needs something other than that roll, write it on the quotation and we will confirm what we can make.

We already buy DSZSFG0.6 cloth or blankets. Is this the same product?

No. The model number is shared with other Signature lines. This page is the insulation tape: a 25 mm × 20 m silicone-coated roll sold by the kilogram under Insulation Cloths. Order it from the insulation-tape product page. Do not assume a cloth or a blanket with the same model number is this roll.

Can I specify adhesive backing?

The listed coating is Silicone. The catalogue does not list an adhesive grade, a peel strength, or a self-adhesive option for DSZSFG0.6. Secure the wrap the way your insulation procedure already requires. Do not add an adhesive claim to the requisition.

Which tape belongs on a flange versus the end of a steam header?

Both jobs use the same roll when the temperature stays inside 550 °C to 900 °C. A flange or valve joint takes overlapping turns of the 25 mm tape after the joint is remade. The end of lagging on a steam header or a small-bore line takes the same tape to close the insulation. Thickness does not change: there is only the 0.6 mm listing. Quantity changes with the number of joints, and you still order kilograms.

Do you keep insulation tape in stock in Mumbai?

No. Darshan Safety Zone, an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer, makes Signature Insulation Tape at our factory in Ahmedabad and dispatches to the plant address on the order. We do not hold a Mumbai store or promise a delivery date. The quotation confirms the kilograms and the dispatch.
