These are apartment bays, ground-floor garages and small grinding rooms. We do not keep a shelf in any of them. A street parking lot is not the delivery address.

    Why this cloth
    Howrah follows the Kolkata building rules for residential basements: parking, not a living room, with at least 2.1 m of clear height. In that tight bay a gate or a two-wheeler is dragged, not hung. The cloth has to fold into a small radius. Graphite on both faces means you do not keep a front and a back.

    Behala is named on the Kolkata municipal fee-parking list, on Diamond Harbour Road. The street lot is not this order. The order is a few square metres in the ground-floor garage, where a shutter rubs each time it moves. The graphite face takes that rub. A curtain you hang is the silicon-coated cloth.

    Why this cloth
    Ballygunge Place is on the same municipal fee-parking list. Here the cloth is a cover you drag, not a curtain. If that cover must hold its shape, look at 1.0 mm, and only when the job sits in the 800 °C to 900 °C band. A cooler slide stays on the thinner cloth.

    Why this cloth
    The state cluster list records about 40 units and about 280 people here. The cloth is a pad that a piece is dragged across, so the graphite face wears instead of the glass weave. Order it only when that face is inside the model’s listed band.

Thickness, and the band that comes with it

The top of every band is 900 °C. The start temperature is not the same on every thickness. Read that split before you pick a stiffer cloth. Above 900 °C, start with fiberglass or ceramic.

What is listed on the graphite cloth

  • Fiberglass with graphite on both sides. Black on all eleven models. No single-side coating and no second colour.
  • Thickness runs from 0.2 mm (230 GSM) to 3.0 mm (1900 GSM). DSZGF0.6, the usual start, is 0.6 mm and 490 GSM.
  • Up to about 0.6 mm the cloth follows a tight fold. From 1.0 mm it holds shape for a cover. Above 2 mm it is for a cover that gets knocked.
  • DSZGF0.2 lists 550 °C to 900 °C. DSZGF0.5, DSZGF0.6 and DSZGF0.8 list 600 °C to 900 °C. DSZGF0.3 and every model from 1.0 mm up list 800 °C to 900 °C.
  • DSZGF0.3 is only 0.3 mm, and its band still starts at 800 °C. Do not treat it as the light cloth for a cooler job.
  • DSZGF1.2 is 1.2 mm and 920 GSM, the same weight as DSZGF1.0, and it is the model with a 1 × 50 m reference roll. The others show 1 × 30 m.
  • Sold per square metre. Enter length and width in metres. GSM is the cloth weight, not the parcel weight.
  • Graphite is a conductive material. This cloth is not sold as an electrical insulator, and there is no non-conductive version.

Length and width
Metres of one pad, gate face or cover. A second piece is a second line.
What moves
A gate, a shutter, or a piece dragged across a pad. A curtain you hang is the silicon-coated cloth.
The place
A Shibpur basement, a Behala or Ballygunge Place garage, or an Amta-I grinding room.
The band
Say the temperature the face actually sees. Below 800 °C, stay with DSZGF0.2 or DSZGF0.6. Do not step up to 1.0 mm only to get a stiffer cloth.

Cut in Ahmedabad, shipped to the garage

We make the cloth in Ahmedabad and send the cut square metres to the Kolkata or Howrah address on the order. Processing is 1–2 business days after payment. The shipping policy lists courier estimates of 1–3 days local, 2–5 days within the state, and 3–7 days for the rest of India. Those are estimates. A West Bengal address is not a Gujarat local run. The quotation confirms when it leaves, and it does not set the arrival day.

When do I pick graphite cloth instead of the silicon-coated cloth?

When something has to slide or rub on the cloth, and you want graphite on both faces. Every model is black and both-side coated. There is no single-side option and no second colour. A hanging curtain, or a coating on one side only, is the silicon-coated cloth at /in/kolkata/silicon-fg-cloth.

Which thickness folds into a tight garage?

DSZGF0.2 is 0.2 mm and 230 GSM, listed at 550 °C to 900 °C. DSZGF0.6 is 0.6 mm and 490 GSM, listed at 600 °C to 900 °C. Those thinner builds follow a gate track or a small pipe. From 1.0 mm the cloth holds its shape, and those models list 800 °C to 900 °C.

Why does a thicker model start at 800 °C?

The published start temperature changes with the build. DSZGF0.2 starts at 550 °C. DSZGF0.5, DSZGF0.6 and DSZGF0.8 start at 600 °C. DSZGF0.3 and the models from 1.0 mm upward start at 800 °C. Every model tops out at 900 °C. A stiff cover is the wrong reason to pick a 1.0 mm cloth if the job is cooler than 800 °C.

Is DSZGF0.3 the light cloth for a cool job?

No. It is only 0.3 mm and 300 GSM, but it is listed at 800 °C to 900 °C. Thin does not mean a lower band on this model. For a garage job below that, start with DSZGF0.2 or DSZGF0.6 and read the band on the variant you select.

Can I order a single coated side or another colour?

Not on this cloth. All eleven models are black and both-side graphite coated. Either face can take the rub. The silicon-coated cloth is a separate product.

Will this cloth insulate a live wire in the garage?

Do not treat it as an electrical insulator. Graphite is a conductive material, and we do not sell a separate non-conductive version. If the cloth will sit on live equipment, tell us before you order.

What if the job runs hotter than 900 °C?

This is fiberglass cloth. Every model tops out at 900 °C. Graphite-coated ceramic cloth is a different base, listed at 1260 °C to 1760 °C. Pick by the temperature of the job, not by the word graphite.

How many square metres do I type for a gate or a pad?

The length and width of that one piece, in metres. The price is the square metres. Most models show 1 × 30 m as the reference roll. DSZGF1.2 shows 1 × 50 m. Neither figure is a minimum order.

How long does a Kolkata or Howrah order take?

We make the cloth in Ahmedabad. Processing is one to two business days after payment, then a courier. The shipping policy estimates one to three days on a local run, two to five within the state, and three to seven for the rest of India. Kolkata and Howrah are in West Bengal, so do not plan on the local band. The quotation confirms dispatch. The day counts are estimates. For a date, use /contact-us#contact-form.

Is there a shelf in Behala or Shibpur?

No. There is no Darshan Safety Zone branch or warehouse in Kolkata or Howrah. You still order the metres. We cut them in Ahmedabad and ship them to the address on the order.
