Signature Back Open Coat

The back is left open instead of being closed and stitched shut like a full jacket. Workers can throw it on and pull it off quickly between tasks, and some heat escapes through the open back so the wearer is not fully sealed in during short furnace or foundry jobs.

Four layer builds — DSZALFC2.0 at 2 layers, DSZALFC3.0 at 3, DSZALFC4.0 at 4 and DSZALFC5.0 at 5. All are free size with a pure aluminium foil coating, silver finish and 600 °C to 800 °C rating. Layers are the only choice between them.

600 °C to 800 °C on every model. That is the coat itself — match it with aluminized gloves, an apron or a hood as your site risk assessment requires. Our closed Signature Aluminium Coat runs higher at 700 °C to 900 °C when you need full wrap-around coverage at a higher band.

More layers means more insulation and more weight on the shoulders. DSZALFC2.0 and DSZALFC3.0 suit shorter tasks and hotter shop floors where mobility matters. DSZALFC4.0 and DSZALFC5.0 are what plants specify for longer spells standing in radiant heat. The temperature rating is the same across all four.

Free size on every model — one size fits the range of wearers rather than being ordered per chest measurement. It is cut to sit loose over work clothing. Check cuffs, hem and how the open back sits on the wearer before anyone goes near a heat zone.

Over compatible work clothing, with the pure aluminium foil face outward so it reflects radiant heat instead of trapping it against the body. The open back is part of the design — do not try to close it off with tape or ties unless your site procedure specifically calls for that.

Weight is listed as per actual because it varies with layer count. The 2-layer build is the lightest of the four and the 5-layer is the heaviest — confirm the figure on the variant you select if your site caps PPE weight.

This is the back-open DSZALFC coat at 600 °C to 800 °C with pure aluminium foil. The closed Aluminium Coat (DSZALC) wraps the body fully at 700 °C to 900 °C. Pick the back-open coat when workers need quick on-and-off and ventilation through the open back. Pick the closed coat when you want full wrap-around coverage at the higher temperature window.

Yes — they cover different areas and many foundry kits stock both. The coat wraps the body while the apron adds extra front torso and upper-leg coverage at 24 × 36 inch. Match layer counts to your duty if your site standardizes PPE builds across the kit.

Look over the foil face and seams before each shift. Tears, delamination or burn-through mean the coat should come out of service. A reflective face that looks intact but is cracked along a fold line is not giving the protection it appears to.

Hang it loosely or lay it flat somewhere dry. Sharp folds crack the foil layer over time — that is what shortens a coat's working life more often than heat exposure alone.
