Heavy hot-work protection — shielding equipment, floors and structures from welding and cutting sparks, slag and spatter in fabrication bays, foundries, steel mills, shipyards and power plant maintenance. Vermiculite-coated ceramic fibre cloth built for sustained spatter contact rather than the occasional spark catch of a general fire blanket.

Vermiculite is a mineral coating that will not burn. Hot spatter and slag tend to sit on the surface and knock off instead of welding themselves into the weave the way they would on bare cloth. That is what makes the blanket reusable across jobs rather than holed after a few shifts.

Stainless steel strands are worked into the ceramic fibre on the roll-format models. Ceramic cloth on its own goes slack and tears under handling; the steel gives the blanket body and tear resistance so it survives being dragged, refitted and walked on in a busy bay.

Seven DSZVCF builds — DSZVCF2.5 at 1000 GSM with a 1 × 2 m reference size and no reinforcement spec on the panel, then DSZVCF2.8 through DSZVCF5.0 on 1 × 30 m reference rolls with SS metallic reinforcement. Thicknesses run 3.0 mm to 5.0 mm with weights from 1100 GSM to 2200 GSM. Note DSZVCF2.8 is labelled 3.0 mm despite the model number.

More thickness means more GSM and more mass between the spatter and whatever you are protecting. DSZVCF2.5 and DSZVCF2.8 suit lighter duty and smaller covers. DSZVCF3.0 and DSZVCF3.2 are the common workshop builds. DSZVCF4.0 through DSZVCF5.0 are what plants specify when the blanket stays down all week or sits under heavy grinding and overhead work.

DSZVCF2.5 is listed at 1200 °C to 1760 °C. The reinforced models from DSZVCF2.8 through DSZVCF5.0 are 1260 °C to 1760 °C. That range covers heavy welding and foundry-adjacent spatter — well above medium-duty weld blankets and general fire blankets.

Select the DSZVCF thickness model, enter length and width in metres and add to cart — the blanket is supplied at that size, sold per piece. The 1 × 30 m and 1 × 2 m figures are reference formats, not fixed catalogue sizes.

Cover the work area with margin, not just the weld itself. Sparks and slag travel further than most people expect, especially with grinding and overhead work, so a blanket that only just covers the immediate spot tends to leave scorch marks around the edges. Size it to your hot work permit and the layout of the bay.

Yes — shake off spatter and inspect the surface after each job. Replace it when the vermiculite coating is worn through, the fabric is holed, or a section has gone stiff and brittle from repeated heat. Condition after use decides it, not a set number of jobs.

It is a hot-work shield, not a fire response blanket. It protects surfaces from sparks and spatter during welding and cutting. For smothering a small fire, use a product from the fire blanket category. Do not substitute one for the other in your emergency plan.
