Questions from Al Ahmadi maintenance and procurement

Heavy or medium-duty for a cut on a Burgan wellhead?

Start with the heavy Signature Welding Blanket when the job throws slag or the cover stays on the cut. Roll models DSZVCF2.8 through DSZVCF5.0 are brown, vermiculite coated, SS metallic reinforced, and listed at 1260 °C to 1760 °C. DSZVCF3.2 is 3.2 mm and 1500 GSM. The medium-duty DSZMDWB2.4 is for spark and spatter, listed at 900 °C to 1000 °C, with non-metallic fabric reinforcement.

When does the oil town use DSZMDWB2.4 instead?

When the hot work is spark and spatter beside instruments, panels or other electrical gear in Al Ahmadi town workshops. DSZMDWB2.4 is 2.4 mm, 1300 GSM, brown, vermiculite coated, and the reference size is 1 × 50 m. You still enter length and width in metres. It is a different product page from the heavy range.

What is different about DSZVCF2.5?

DSZVCF2.5 is 1000 GSM, brown, coating listed as vermiculite, reference size 1 × 2 m, and listed at 1200 °C to 1760 °C. Thickness and a reinforcement spec are not on that model. The roll models from DSZVCF2.8 upward list a thickness, SS metallic reinforcement, and a 1 × 30 m reference. All of them are sold per piece.

How do we order the size?

On the product page, enter length and width in metres and the number of pieces. Name the model on the quotation, because the page does not preselect DSZVCF3.2 or any other code. The listed sizes are references, not a fixed menu.

Does either blanket carry a hazardous-area approval?

No hazardous-area approval is listed on DSZVCF or on DSZMDWB2.4. Your permit and site hot-work procedure decide where a blanket may be hung. Darshan Safety Zone holds ISO 9001:2015 for the company quality system. That is not a product approval for these blankets.

Is there a warehouse in Kuwait or a stated arrival day?

We manufacture in Ahmedabad and ship on the order. There is no warehouse, branch or shelf in Al Ahmadi or elsewhere in Kuwait, and this page does not state a Kuwait arrival day. Transit follows the freight and customs path confirmed on the quotation.

Who pays import duty?

Import duties and taxes are yours. We do not quote a landed cost on this page. Availability also depends on the product category and on the regulations that apply to the shipment.

Do Magwa and the Ahmadi field use a different heavy model?

No. The same DSZVCF range covers slag and cutting on Magwa, on the Ahmadi field, and on the pipeline corridors that run from the ridge toward the coast. What changes is the thickness you name and the length and width. DSZVCF5.0 is 5.0 mm and 2200 GSM when the cover stays down. DSZVCF2.5 is the lighter piece when crews carry it between wellheads.

What should procurement send for the quotation?

The model, length and width in metres, how many pieces, whether the job is spark or slag, and the place: the oil town, Burgan, Magwa, the Ahmadi field, or a pipeline corridor. Add a note if the blanket will hang beside electrical gear. Bulk and project quantities follow the production schedule on the quotation.

Where do we read the model choice before we measure?

Our guide to choosing a welding blanket walks through heavy versus medium-duty. This page applies that choice to Al Ahmadi oil-town workshops and to field hot work. The product pages are where you enter the metres.
