That is so the blanket can sit in a damp basement, a washdown bay or a yard where fuel and oil are spilled, and still be ready. Anti-static is listed because deployment is around fuel, vapour and fire. The GSM figures, 520 and 550, are fabric weight, not the mass of a packed blanket.
